Denis Andre/President
A proud product of Cornwall, Ontario, Denis found an interest in basketball at the tender age of 10. His formative years were marked by an illustrious stint with the Cornwall Lions' traveling teams, where he clinched two provincial championships in 1998 and 2000. Beyond the accolades, Denis cherishes the enduring friendships and mentorships forged during his time on the court, a sentiment that fueled his desire to contribute back to the community that shaped his childhood.
In 2021, Denis took on a leadership role within the Cornwall United Community Basketball Association (CUCBA) as Vice President, a position that paved the way for his current role as President since 2022. Acknowledging the profound impact basketball had on his personal development, Denis now serves as a coach, aiming to impart the same life-changing experiences to the youth within the association. His journey from player to mentor underscores the transformative power of the game, with Denis at the helm ensuring that the CUCBA remains a beacon for community engagement, youth development, and a shared passion for the sport.
Together with a dedicated team of board members, volunteer coaches, team managers, and parent volunteers, Denis strives to provide the youth of Cornwall with a basketball experience that goes beyond the court, emphasizing both skill development and the building of enduring relationships.
Since 1982, the Cornwall & United Counties Basketball Association (CUCBA) has helped grow and support the local basketball community for over 30 years.
Our house league basketball program helps kids learn the fundamentals of basketball, giving them the opportunity to compete in a fun and supportive environment.
Our travelling team program helps kids take the next step in their basketball journey, giving them the opportunity to play in a competitive environment, against some of Ontario’s strongest basketball players.

The CUCBA supports travelling teams from Atom to Juvenile, as well as house leagues from Mites to Juvenile. Young people learn the fundamentals, compete for fun or competitively, all while learning sportsmanship and having fun!
